The summer heat is starting to die down here in Valencia, California as Bob Reeves Brass prepares to visit Japan again.
From September 19th to the 28th Bob, John, and Brett will be in Japan to do valve alignments, consultation, and presentations. This will be our fourth year in a row visiting our dealer in Tokyo, Japan, Joybrass.
The following day, September 21st, we will be giving a presentation with Noah Gladstone of the Brass Ark debuting our new trombone mouthpieces as well as a talk on trumpet equipment and custom work.
Bob Reeves Brass will be visiting Europe in November 2013!
We’ll be on the road doing presentations, consultations, and, of course, valve alignments. It’s our first time visiting Europe, so this is a great opportunity to meet Bob and his staff. We will be visiting three different stores from the 19th to the 23rd.
For all our Japanese customers , this coming Saturday and Sunday (31-March and 1-April) Mr. Yoshino Kazutaka, the trumpet specialist at our Japanese dealer Joy Brass, will be holding clinics at Miki Gakki in Osaka.
This will be a great opportunity to try Bob Reeves mouthpieces. Mr. Kazutaka will have a large selection with him and you can take advantage of his extensive knowledge of our pieces.
Among the selection of pieces will be two prototype mouthpieces from our upcoming classical line — a 3C and a 1 1/2C. These pieces are engineered to have a classic sound and feel but with the benefit of modern improvements in mouthpiece design. Joy Brass will be taking pre-orders at this event for our new mouthpieces.
Mr. Kazutaka is the trumpet specialist at Joy Brass and as such is very knowledgeable of trumpet playing and the Bob Reeves line of mouthpieces. He has personally worked with us for many years and has acted as liaison for many Japanese customers looking for custom work. We hope you can take advantage of this great opportunity.

They have a good stock of our trumpet, flugelhorn, and piccolo mouthpieces and they also carry our H2Oil valve oil. You can also try our special C2J mouthpiece that gets a flugel-like sound on a standard trumpet.
Temby Australia will be exhibiting at the International Trumpet Guild 2010 Conference in Sydney in July. Contact them or check back here for more up to date ITG Conference information.

We’d like to welcome to the family our newest dealer of Bob Reeves Brass mouthpieces and accessories: BAC Horn Doctor in Olathe, Kansas.
For those of you who think the only things you can find in Kansas are wheat, giant balls of twine, and the Kansas City Royals, you are missing out on the great services that BAC Horn Doctor and its founder Mike Corrigan have to offer to brass musicians.
Mike offers the type of expert knowledge and personal service that is only becoming rarer these days, especially in the musical instrument industry. It is a real pleasure to have him on board with us, and I hope you consider him the next time you need a Bob Reeves mouthpiece or any other brass service.
I had the pleasure of visiting our Japanese distributor, Shires Co., during my recent vacation to Tokyo. Sanada-san (left) is the owner, and his store is a brass players’ dream with new and vintage trumpets and trombones lining the walls in beautiful displays. Nakagawa-san (second from the left) and Kazutaka-san (right) are trumpet experts and provide the highest level of service to their customers.
My wife and I had a great time visiting the shop and enjoyed some amazing sushi and Fugu, which at the time, we did not know it was the famous blowfish.
I was also lucky to see some customers that have done work with Bob Reeves and myself before. Mukaide-san is a professional trumpet player at Tokyo DisneySea. We did a valve alignment on his vintage Calicchio during our last visit in 2006. He is the leader of a band that plays regularly in the park. He sounded great, and was nice enough to pose for a picture with me!
If you find yourself in Tokyo, please by all means drop by their shop and try out some horns and maybe even a Bob Reeves Mouthpiece or two!
